Brodie Grundy (MB $9,000, DS $14,300)
The MRO has provided a clear opportunity for DFS players in Round 2 suspending Mason Cox, in 2017 Grundy averaged 115.5pts without Cox playing & 89.0pts with Cox playing. Last week Grundy was impacted again scoring just 84pts, he recorded 60.9% of all Collingwood Hit Outs.
The match-up this week against Lobb should be favourable for Grundy, last week Lobb recorded 41 Hit Outs compared to 46 from a combined Bulldogs trio in Trengove, Roughead & English. Grundy has ceiling especially when solo Ruck, he is quite pricey but could be well worth the investment.
Dyson Heppell (MB $8,500, $16,150)
Many wouldn’t recognise Heppell for a high ceiling but 145pts last week was a clear reminder that he can go big, he scored 100pts or more in a relatively standard 43.5% of games last year but had a decent conversion scoring 120pts or more in 21.7% of games.
What is appealing about Heppell again this week is the midfield match-up, Freo are now running with an inexperienced group which can be exploited. Fremantle has conceded an average of 415.0 Disposals from their last 14 games, this included conceding a league worst 439 Disposals to Port Adelaide last week. It could be a long wait to see Heppell running around late on Saturday night, it is worth sprinkling him across a few line-ups.
