The Crows are preparing for a bumper draft haul in 2018, they currently have 3 picks inside the top 20 & could add another.

Mitch McGovern has requested a Trade, this will likely add at a minimum one more early draft pick either this year or next.

Adelaide will be targeting high talent in the 2018 Draft, they are almost certain to make a play to move up the draft order and have the picks to do so.

Gold Coast might be the trading partner for the Crows in the upcoming trade period.

“We plan for the hand we’ve got now, we plan for a hand that we may have”

“Not often people trade top five, or top 10 picks (but) we’re open to everything and we’ll certainly have a look at it”

7 Sep – 2018 Free Agency

Kane Cornes expressed his concern on Free Agency on his regular Friday spot on SEN

“The AFL Players Association, the players fought hard for free agency and they will argue after serving eight years at a club, that you’ve had no choice of being drafted to, you should have some freedom of where you want to play.

“It’s another example of the AFL Players Association having far too much power.”

Kane Cornes

Further insight into the decision by Fremantle & Chris Bond to part ways, it appears that when Steve Rosich took over making List Management decisions that the GM of Football Chris Bond situation escalated

“He’s contracted for another year”

“That is a signal that the Head of Football Operations who’s been there for 14 years is not the person they want to be doing that job (List Management after Brad Lloyd left)”

“Both parties I gather are saying that it’s amicable”

“It came to a head last week.. that’s around the time that this list management stuff took place (Steve Rosich taking over List Management decisions)”
