Nic Newman was traded to Carlton from Sydney on the final day of the 2018 Trade Period, a 2019 4th Rd pick was sent back to the Swans as part of the deal.
Newman has a career average 19.3 Disposals & 5.0 Marks from 31 games at Sydney, he averaged 17.5 Disposals & 5.5 Marks in 2018. Newman was selected at Pick 35 in the 2014 Rookie Draft.

AFL FANTASY TAKE: There is much to like about Newman moving to Carlton, the combination of Docherty & Simpson have put up elite fantasy numbers at the Blues and if Newman can get a piece of that action then he could provide a decent return in 2019.
Newman averaged 84.0pts from 20 games in 2017 & 74.2pts from 11 games in 2018, he has a career average 102.3pts when he has recorded 20 Disposals or more over his career.
Pay close attention to Newman during the pre-season, he could be in your starting Defence in 2019.
