AFL FANTASY ANALYSIS
Tom Mitchell produced another strong fantasy season in 2018 averaging 128.2pts (Incl. Finals), he averaged a remarkable 147.0pts from his opening 3 games of the year. Over his next 10 games Mitchell averaged 112.3pts before closing out the H&A season averaging 142.0pts from his last 9 games.
Mitchell scored 100pts or more in 79.2% of games & 120pts or more from 58.3% of games in 2018, this was a slight regression compared to 2017.
Mitchell injured his shoulder in a 2018 Semi Final loss to Melbourne that required surgery, his progress should be monitored during the pre-season for any updates.
The price tag will be huge for Mitchell at Round 1, the decision on selecting him will be all the more difficult if he is close to full fitness.
Identifying his early season match-ups will be crucial especially if you are intending to fade him early, if he starts the season off well it will be difficult to acquire enough cash to complete an early upgrade considering his salary.
There is much to ponder here, it could be a season defining decision.
