NEWS

The news continued to flow for fantasy coaches today, all clubs are about to take a compulsory 3 week break which will mean information will certainly dry up until early January.

Adelaide seem to be in good shape heading into the Christmas break, after suffering multiple injuries to key players in 2018 the outlook appears to be positive according to Rory Laird today.

“It’s been very positive since we’ve come back, all the boys are really enjoying the training, and everyone’s come back in really good shape” Rory Laird.

Charlie Cameron will return to full training in January, he’s returning from a Lisfranc injury.

“Charlie went into match play last week and will be back into full training after Christmas” Brisbane High-Performance Manager, Damien Austin.

Connor Ballenden will also return to full training in January, he’s returning from a fractured hand.

“Connor came out of the brace last week. He’s got a bit of movement to develop within his wrist. He should be into full training after Christmas” Brisbane High-Performance Manager, Damien Austin.

Connor Rozee has settled into his new club Port Adelaide, the No.5 overall draft pick provided an update on his first pre-season at AFL level.

“Endurance is one of the main things that I think I need to work on to play AFL football next year, so hopefully I can get that up a fair bit before the start of the season”

“Obviously I’m not he biggest boy out there, so I think putting on a little bit of size and getting a bit better at my contested football will help me leading into the start of next year and hopefully I’ll get a few games.” Connor Rozee.

AFL FANTASY ANALYSIS

Lachie Hunter put together a very solid season averaging 105.4pts, after averaging 100.2pts from his opening 13 games Hunter scored 100pts or more in each of his last 8 games averaging 114.0pts.

Hunter scored 100pts or more in 71.4% of games & 120pts or more from 19.0% of games in 2018, this a significant improvement compared to 2017.

Hunter averaged 116.0pts from winning games last season & 98.9pts from losing games, he averaged 104.8pts at Marvel Stadium.

In 2017 Hunter averaged 22.6 Disposals, he increased that that to 29.8 Disposals in 2018.

The Bulldogs averaged 387.5 Disposals in the 2018 H&A season (Rank 4), they averaged 392.5 Disposals in the 2017 H&A season (Rank 7).

Hunter thrived late in the 2018 season when the Bulldogs were putting up high Disposal numbers, if those type of numbers are maintained into the 2019 season then he could put up another excellent fantasy season.

Hunter is a worthwhile monitor over the pre-season, he won’t be highly owned and yet he is capable of putting up elite numbers. Worth consideration as a unique option.
