Jake Carlisle will likely miss a significant part of the H&A season as he will see a specialist this week with surgery a possibility, he hasn’t been able to train since mid-late January due to a back complaint.

Josh Battle has been training with the defensive group, he will likely benefit the most with the Carlisle injury.

Tom McCartin has been cleared to resume training, he had been suffering from concussion symptoms.

The McCartin return to football could impact the game time & job security for Nick Blakey, Lance Franklin is still on a modified program and is questionable for Round 1.

Nth Melbourne will use the JLT Series to experiment with a dual Ruck set-up, it will be worth monitoring the progress of Tom Campbell during the JLT Series & likely impact to Todd Goldstein.
