Essendon Midfielder Devon Smith has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, he is set to undergo Knee surgery after suffering a second injury to the same knee in Round 8.
“After recent and thorough consultation with a specialist and our medical team, the decision was made in Devon’s best interest to undergo surgery and treat both injuries.” Essendon GM of Football Dan Richardson.
Smith is expected to resume running in approximately 12 weeks & be ready to begin 2020 pre-season, he averaged 79.4pts in AFL Fantasy & 67.7 in SuperCoach in 2019.
Essendon small Forward Orazio Fantasia (Quad) will likely return in Round 13, key Forward Shaun McKernan (Hamstring) will return to football this week.

Port Adelaide Half Forward/Midfielder Brad Ebert (Concussion) has been cleared to return to football, he will likely return in Round 13 which is post the Power Round 12 Bye.
Power Half-Back Ryan Burton may be available for Round 10, coach Ken Hinkley described Burton as “sneaky chance” to play this week.
The return of Burton & eventually Ebert will impact several key Port Adelaide rookies which is something to consider over the Bye period.
Port Adelaide small Forward/Midfielder Robbie Gray (Hand) & Defender Tom Jonas (Calf) are expected to play in Round 10, this will also impact the starting 22 this week & over the Bye period.

Richmond Ruck Ivan Soldo failed in his attempt to have his 1 game suspension reduced, he will miss Round 10 which should enhance the fantasy game for Noah Balta.
