Injury Update: Jaeger O’Meara

Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O’Meara sustained a minor fracture above his eyebrow at training on Monday, the injury is not considered serious.

Update 27 May: O’Meara will continue training and will be available for selection in Round 2 if the fracture sufficiently heals in time.

“Jaeger copped a knock just above his eyebrow in yesterday’s session and scans revealed a minor fracture”

“Fortunately for both Jaeger and the club, he won’t require surgery and it won’t impact his ability to train.”

“He will continue to train with the group, albeit we will take a cautious approach to his contact work while the fracture heals itself.” Hawks GM of Football, Graham Wright.

O’Meara averaged 25.9 Disposals, 3.6 Marks & 5.9 Tackles from 21 games in 2019, he recorded 23 Disposals in Round 1.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

O’Meara recorded 73.1% of team CBA’s in Round 1 scoring 83pts, the minor injury is unlikely to reduce his midfield usage when he is available to return.

Fantasy: Round 1 Hawks v Lions CBA’s

O’Meara is in a tier below premium midfielders in AFL Fantasy, the return of Tom Mitchell in 2020 may reduce his output this season.
