Fantasy: The Updated Role For Caleb Poulter

There has been further clarity on the role for Caleb Poulter, he’ll make his AFL debut in Round 7.

Collingwood senior coach Nathan Buckley made the announcement on Wednesday.

Poulter was selected at pick 30 in the 2020 AFL Draft, he has played 2 games in the VFL this season.

He will likely play in a wing type role early in his career at the Magpies.

“But what you’ve shown us is capacity to play a role.. that wing role really suits you.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing what you can bring.” Nathan Buckley.

Taylor Adams also provided an update on Thursday morning via RSN.

“He’ll play mostly on a wing/high forward, he can play high-back.”

“Lightly built, but moves really really well & has put a nice block of form together” Taylor Adams.

Injury Update: Josh Dunkley

Caleb Poulter has averaged 22.5 Disposals, 5.0 Marks & 2.5 Tackles in the VFL this season.

He’ll predominantly play in a wing role for the Magpies, his ability to hit targets on his left foot should be a feature.

The Magpies are providing opportunities to younger type players this season, Poulter is the 5th debutant so far in 2021. If he can make an immediate impact at AFL level his medium-long term position in the team could be quite secure, as with all younger players it can take a while to acclimate to the speed in the AFL.

Poulter is a trade-in target for AFL Fantasy classic.
