Port Adelaide GM of Football Chris Davies provided an update on Friday.

“We knew when we drafted Hugh that he’d be a longer-term prospect given his lighter frame and we knew he had had that issue with his hip during the season,”

“We thought we could either push him through the year and he might battle a little bit or we could try and get him ready and effectively take a longer-term approach.”

“His surgery went well and I’m sure he’ll be back to play a decent part in next season.” Davies Said.

It is likely the 2022 season would be set aside as a year of development for Jackson, Port Adelaide are likely to be patient with their first year draftee.

Jackson is likely a pass at Round 1 in season long fantasy, his fitness & development would be a concern at AFL level.

He’s a pass in single season draft leagues, he’s an option beyond the early picks in dynasty leagues.
