GWS Giants Update: Xavier O’Halloran

Xavier O’Halloran is looking to solidify his place in the Giants team in 2022, injured sidelined the 21 year old in the final stages of the 2021 season but he’s looking to bounce back this year.

O’Halloran said earlier this week on RSN he was becoming more comfortable playing at AFL level.

“After obviously spending 3 years in the system now,”

“I’m becoming a lot more comfortable and certainly know what I need to do and what’s required of me to be able to play games & play good footy.”

“That’s what I’m trying to do now throughout the pre-season to give myself the best chance to back it up again next year.” O’Halloran said.

O’Halloran averaged 12.9 Disposals, 3.0 Marks & 1.6 Tackles from 14 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Xavier O’Halloran averaged 51.2pts from 14 games in 2021, he scored a season high 67pts in Round 7 against Adelaide.

His fantasy scoring output hasn’t been noteworthy playing out of defence & moving up onto the wing in general play, it is likely that will continue into 2022 with his specific role.

O’Halloran is likely a pass in season long fantasy at Round 1, there just hasn’t been enough yet to suggest he can hit premium scores on a consistent basis.

He’s likely a pass in single season draft leagues.
