Injury Update: Jordan Roughead

Jordan Roughead will miss the start of the 2022 H&A season.

He underwent shoulder surgery this week after dealing with an ongoing issue.

Roughead could return at Round 5 or 6 if his rehabilitation progress smoothly according to Collingwood today.

“Jordan has been managing the shoulder for some time but it reached a point where surgery was required,”

“The expectation is that he will be out of the selection frame for eight weeks or so, which could see him available by rounds five or six. We’re certainly hopeful of that.” Collingwood GM of Football Graham Wright said.

Roughead averaged 13.2 Disposals, 6.5 Marks & 1.7 Tackles from 21 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Jordan Roughead averaged 60.7pts from 21 games in 2021, he recorded a season high 117pts against Port Adelaide in Round 10.

The injury does impact Collingwood significantly in defence, a key defender is now required to cover the loss of Roughead for the early part of the season.

Opportunities are available if the Magpies opt for a 1 for 1 swap without a mini shuffle of roles.

With pre-season games just around the corner it should be clear the direction Collingwood head in prior to Round 1.

Roughead is a pass in season long fantasy & single season draft leagues.
