Zach Merrett will be sidelined for an extended period.
He injured his ankle late in the game against Brisbane on Saturday.
Merrett has been diagnosed with a a high ankle syndesmosis injury, he is set to undergo surgery.
He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Essendon GM of Football Josh Mahoney provided an update today.
“We will look at surgery as an option for Zach but it is likely he will miss around six to eight weeks.” he said.
Mahoney added that Nik Cox (Ankle) will be assessed this week with his injury not as severe.
