Cooler Alert: Lachie Neale

AFL Fantasy News: Lachie Neale could be targeted by GWS this week.

Essendon were able to restrict his output via Jye Caldwell to just 21 disposals at the Gabba on Sunday, he is averaging 31.1 disposals this season.

GWS senior coach Mark McVeigh was adamant they won’t allow Neale to dominate this week at Manuka Oval on Saturday.

Neale recorded 39 disposals against the Giants in Round 11 at the Gabba, he also kicked 2 goals.

McVeigh provided clarity on how to approach Neale at his press conference this week.

“Lachie Neale really dominated us, I think he had 38 possessions and a couple of goals.”

“We can’t allow a player of his ilk to really dominate the game,”

“We know he’s going to get plenty of the footy but can we take a little bit off him in that regard.” he said.

Lachie Ash could be a consideration to run with Neale but McVeigh left it open to a potential surprise on Saturday.

“He’s one of a couple we can consider there’s no doubt about that, he’s done the job before on other players.”

“He’s one that we can consider if we go down the path of tagging, that’s not to say that we’re going to do that.”

“Is it someone that’s just mindful of him when they’ve got the football.”

“There’s a couple of other players that we can strongly consider that perhaps people wouldn’t have thought about.” he added.
