Barnett is an athletic ruck that is strong in marking situations.
West Coast National Recruiting Manager Rohan O’Brien provided a brief update after Barnett was selected.
“Obviously a young ruckman with a lot of potential – gives him a bit time to develop.”
“We think he’s really shown a lot of growth this year already, he now gets to work under Nic (Naitanui) and he’s got a bit of time to do that.” O’Brien said.
Barnett also averaged 12 disposals and 15 hitouts in 3 games in the 2022 U18 National Championships.

Fantasy Impact: Harry Barnett will add quality depth at the ruck position for West Coast.
He is quite agile for a tall which allows him to impact in general play and find the right spots to negate opposition ball movement, he has the potential to develop into an excellent tap ruck.
The short term fantasy prospects are likely moderate, although capable at this stage of playing at AFL level West Coast are likely to take the longer path of development early.

His long term prospects could be quite decent, he has the attributes to develop into a quality ruck which should provide a solid scoring output.
Season long fantasy: Barnett is an option if he is projected to play a reasonable amount of consecutive games, West Coast are currently in a list rebuild which could present opportunities early in his career.
Single season draft leagues: He’s likely a pass in single season draft leagues.
DFS: He will be a consideration only if playing as a solo ruck at a low entry level salary.
