Essendon senior coach Brad Scott said following the game they removed Reid from the ground as a precautionary measure and was hopeful he would be okay.
Reid has confirmed a hamstring strain, he is expected to miss 3-4 weeks (via Cal Twomey on Sunday).
Essendon will likely provide an update in the upcoming period.
