AFLRATINGS NEWS: Melbourne defender Blake Howes was assessed for an arm concern on Sunday against Gold Coast at People First Stadium.
Howes came from the ground in Q4 following a marking contest and was immediately ruled out of the game.

Melbourne confirmed an arm injury throughout the game.
Howes has undergone further assessment to determine the severity of the injury.
Senior coach Steven King confirmed on Monday night (via Fox) that Howes has undergone surgery on a fractured forearm.
He is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
Melbourne will likely provide updates during his rehabilitation period.

Howes averaged 15.5 disposals, 4.9 marks and 2.1 tackles prior to Round 21 (AF PPM: 0.73).
