Patrick Dangerfield is in doubt to play in Round 1 after injuring his hamstring in the 1st Qtr of the final JLT Series game in Colac on Sunday, Dangerfield noticeably pulled up short as he kicked the ball in to the Cats forward line.
Dangerfield immediately left the ground and walked in to the change rooms at Central Reserve, he underwent an immediate hamstring test and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Geelong has less than 2 weeks prior to their opening Round 1 clash against Melbourne at the MCG, as a general rule standard hamstring injuries require at least 21 days to recover from prior to playing again.
At a minimum, Dangerfield is listed as ‘Doubtful’ for Round 1
FANTASY TAKE: Coaches that were high on starting Dangerfield are now likely to pivot away from him at Round 1, starting the season with a hamstring issue is a concern but you can guarantee Geelong will take no early risks with him.
With Gary Ablett also in doubt for Round 1, Mitch Duncan becomes a legitimate target along with Joel Selwood depending on the platform you play on.
