Injury Update: Zach Merrett
“Steven May suffered a slight hamstring strain during training,”
“We expect him to be available for JLT two in his preparation for Round 1.” GM of Football & Operations, Josh Mahoney.
May was traded to Melbourne in the off-season after playing 123 games at Gold Coast, he averaged 17.4 Disposals & 7.5 Marks in the 2018 season for the Suns.
AFL FANTASY TAKE
There are currently no alarm bells ringing for May to miss Round 1 which would’ve created an opportunity in defence, spots are tight at Melbourne which could limit Rookie opportunities this season.
The fantasy prospects for May this season could alter from his previous history at Gold Coast, he averaged 93.6pts when recording 8 Marks or more last season.
