Harrison Wigg will miss the 2018 season after rupturing his ACL, the injury occurred on Thursday during a Gold Coast training session.
“It’s really unfortunate for Harrison, he had an injury interrupted season with the club last year, but had put together a really strong pre-season,”
“We know he’ll approach his recovery with the professionalism he has shown this pre-season and we look forward to seeing him back up and running.” Gold Coast GM of Football Operations, Jon Haines.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
The news of the Wigg injury will likely force a reshuffle on the DEF bench, most would have anticipated Wigg playing early in the 2019 H&A season but unfortunately he won’t be an option.
Yet another base salary DEF option has disappeared from what could be a thin group this season, hopefully the JLT Series presents a few more options for coaches otherwise a re-think on team structure might have to be considered.
