Not so great news for Izak Rankine with the small forward facing an extended period on the sidelines, he suffered a hamstring injury in the final JLT Series game for Gold Coast on Sunday & is expected to miss at least 8 weeks.

Although Rankine wasn’t at the top of the list as a rookie selection in season long formats it does narrow the field just a little, he could be a downgrade target when he makes his debut later this season.

Nathan Fyfe has guaranteed his playing status for Round 1, he underwent minor elbow surgery 2 weeks ago & did not play in any JLT Series games.

“I don’t think I’m any worse off for not playing a JLT game.. My elbow is fine” Nat Fyfe.

Fyfe averaged 102.1pts in AFL Fantasy & 113.9pts in SuperCoach in 2018.

Isaac Heeney looks set to be available for Round 1, he injured his ankle in the opening minute of the JLT game on Sunday.

“It’s not a major sprain so we expect him to train this week & be ready for Round 1” Swans Head of Football, Charlie Gardiner.
