AFL Fantasy Pre-Season: Demons v Crows Recap

Summary: In a game impacted by wind favouring one end of the ground Melbourne held off Adelaide in the last Qtr to win by 33pts, Christian Petracca was a standout scoring a game high 145pts.

The Demons played a heavy concentration of Petracca, Oliver, Sparrow & Viney at centre bounces, the Crows opted to spread the midfield usage across several players.

Sam Weideman stepped in at the No.1 Ruck role for the Demons as he finished with 74pts, Luke Jackson was used at centre bounces as a Ruck but also attended as a midfielder on a few occasions.

Kysaiah Pickett did some nice things impacting the game as a small forward, he finished with 42pts.

There was no doubt Adelaide wanted a look at several players through the midfield as Round 1 approaches, Chayce Jones, Miles Poholke, Patrick Wilson & Ben Keays (in the second half) were part of the rotation at centre bounces.

Reilly O’Brien was solid in the Ruck against inferior opposition early, he recorded 13 Disposals & 5 Marks to go along with his 31 Hit Outs from managed game time.

Rory Sloane (Hip) & Rory Laird were on minute restrictions, they will both play next week in the State of Origin Fire Relief game.
