Summary: Gold Coast were far too good for Geelong winning by 68pts at Metricon Stadium, the Suns did show some real signs of improvement for the 2020 season albeit against the Cats who didn’t seem to be highly engaged in the contest.
Matthew Rowell, Noah Anderson & Jeremy Sharp were introduced to the senior Gold Coast team after being drafted in November 2019, all were quite solid with the addition of Connor Budarick who also impressed.
Hugh Greenwood was a standout in the Gold Coast midfield, he recorded 25 Disposals, 4 Marks & 9 Tackles for 114pts.

Geelong ran quite a few players through the midfield, Patrick Dangerfield was used sparingly at centre bounces while Tom Atkins & Quinton Narkle were used the most.
It was the first look at Cooper Stephens in the senior team at Geelong, he will likely grow & improve from the experience.
Charlie Constable was used in defence in the first half, he moved into the midfield at a high usage rate in the second half.
Jordan Clark was solid in his defensive role for the Cats, he finished with 80pts.
