Aaron Nietscke is set to miss the 2021 season, he ruptured his ACL during a practice match on Friday.

Nietscke underwent scans on his knee, subsequently they revealed the serious nature of the injury. 

This is the 3rd ACL injury Nietscke has sustained, he was selected at pick 53 in the 2018 AFL Draft.

GM of Football Performance Alan Richardson provided an update on Sunday. 

“Scans have unfortunately confirmed that Aaron has ruptured his ACL and will again miss a large portion of the year,”

“This is absolutely devastating news for Aaron and the club, as he was preparing for the season ahead.” Alan Richardson.

The news on a 3rd ACL for Nietscke is bitterly disappointing, he yet to play an AFL game.

Nietscke was de-listed at the end of the 2020 season, he was subsequently added back to the list during the off-season.
