Injury Update: Sam Menegola

An update on the Sam Menegola knee injury is now available, he underwent surgery in October.

The procedure was a meniscal repair, he will continue his rehabilitation in Perth & return to Geelong in the new year.

Geelong GM of Football Simon Lloyd provided an update on Thursday.

“Sam and the medical team were pleased with the outcome post-surgery,” 

“Sam is totally professional in all aspects of his football, and he will tackle the rehabilitation process with gusto. Sam has started his rehab in Perth and will return to Geelong in the new year.” Lloyd said.

Menegola averaged 23.2 Disposals, 5.5 Marks & 2.3 Tackles from 23 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Sam Menegola averaged 86.9pts from 23 games in 2021, he scored a season high 132pts in Round 22 against St Kilda. 

He scored 100pts or more in 21.7% of games.

The scoring output for Menegola was volatile last season, his outside role can provide inconsistent scores across the season. 

Menegola is likely a pass in season long fantasy, his interrupted pre-season is cause for concern.

His ADP likely slides in single season draft leagues, he won’t be a priority target.
