There has been an update on the Ben McEvoy role this season, his flexibility will be utilised by senior coach Sam Mitchell.
McEvoy has been training as part of the forwards group this pre-season, but across the season Mitchell emphasised he still could play across all three playing lines.
AFL News on Twitter @aflratings “He’s been spending a lot of the time in the
front half as a key forward,”
“Obviously spending some time in the ruck.”
“We know we can throw to him down back if we have to,”
“Looking to keep having that flexibility where he can play across all three lines.” Mitchell said.
McEvoy averaged 12.5 Disposals, 5.0 Marks, 3.5 Tackles & 16.8 Hit Outs from 22 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Ben McEvoy averaged 80.1pts from 22 games in 2021, he scored a season high 104pts in Round 11 against Gold Coast.
It is likely going to be a fluid situation at the ruck position for Hawthorn in 2022, Ned Reeves should be coming into his prime at the position aged 23 while the Hawks also recruited Max Lynch from Collingwood in the off-season.

McEvoy is likely a pass in season long fantasy, the scoring could be volatile in his flexible role this year.
He’s an option for cover well beyond the premium & No.1 solo ruck options in single season draft leagues.
