Riley Thilthorpe has provided an update on his role for 2022, he will remain as a key forward and provide ruck support.
Thilthorpe was selected at pick 2 in the 2020 AFL Draft, he played 14 games in his first AFL season.
He discussed his role for the upcoming season on 5AA this week.
AFL News on Twitter @aflratings “I think at the moment I’ll probably just play
that tall forward/second ruck sort of role again.”
“Maybe get some spurts on the wing and midfield hopefully.” Thilthorpe said.
He averaged 10.9 Disposals, 3.1 Marks, 1.4 Tackles & 1.3 Goals in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: Riley Thilthorpe averaged 51.2pts from 14 games in 2021, he recorded a season high 94pts in Round 6 against Hawthorn which included 5 Goals on debut.
The role will remain similar again in 2022, interestingly he also added that ruck support which is somewhat noteworthy with Matthew Nicks likely leaning towards playing a solo ruck set-up this season.

Thilthorpe is likely a pass in season long fantasy, his scoring is likely too volatile at his position but there is potential scoring upside.
He’s a late round speculative option for single season draft leagues, he could score well in optimal match-ups.
