Braydon Preuss remains in a competition for his spot as leading GWS ruck.
He was not seen at AFL level in any game in 2021 with injuries severely impacting his season.
Speaking this week on SEN midfielder Tom Green provided insight into the battle for the No.1 ruck position at the Giants.
“He’s coming along really really well,”
AFL News on Twitter @aflratings “He seems like he’s getting his body
right and he’s getting back on track.”
“We’re really really excited to hopefully have him in the side,”
“Having said that we’ve also got Matt Flynn and Kieren Briggs who are really battling hard in the ruck as well and there’s been some really good ruck battles in our match sim so far.”
GAME DAY LIVE on Twitter @aflratings_Live “Preussy has got to work for his spot as everybody does, there’s been some really good battles in there so hopefully
Preussy can get his body right and put his hand up for selection.”
“But we’ve got everyone fighting really really hard and there’s some guys who are making his job difficult I guess which is what you want in pre-season.” Green said.
Fantasy Impact: No games for Braydon Preuss in 2021 due to injuries, while in a favoured position to take the No.1 ruck spot there is no guarantee.
Additionally the Giants have provided commentary in the off-season on a dual ruck setup and split roles at times in the forward line this season.
This would definitely impact the ceiling for Preuss if he was not clear solo ruck.

Preuss is a consideration for season long fantasy when named, his salary represents strong value but it needs to be understood the ruck situation at the Giants in 2022.
He’s an option beyond the premium ruck options in single season draft leagues.
