Liam Henry continues with his strong pre-season in a new role.
Moving further up the ground in 2022 the 20 year is still grasping parts of the wing role but senior coach Justin Longmuir praised his pre-season of learning on SENWA this week.

“It’s well noted that we’ve tried him on the wing over the pre-season and we’ll continue to do that,”
“Last week he showed some real form in our intra club.”
“He’s still working through aspects of his game to get them up to really high AFL standard with his disposal and a few other things in terms of his contest,”
“He’s made massive improvements on that over the pre-season.”
“What’s really impressed me is his running ability, there is a lot of structure that you have to hold as a winger in modern day football especially around the different stoppage structures we apply over the ground.”
“He’s doing a good job at understanding those and it’s a really important role to be able to get your own position right and then communicate in, so he’s embraced that getting a lot right and clearly going to keep on developing as the pre-season games unfold.”
“But he’s in really good order at the moment, his form has been really strong on the wing and we’ll continue to push that with him.” Longmuir said.
Fantasy Impact: Liam Henry averaged 37.8pts from 17 games in 2021, he scored a season high 61pts against St Kilda in Round 23.
The move to a wing type role should see an increase in scoring output, he will have opportunities to showcase his speed and ability to hit targets inside forward 50.

Henry is a consideration at Round 1 in season long fantasy if he can secure a place inside the best 22, he should provide a decent ROI with an extended run in a wing role.
He’s likely a pass or a very late round speculative pick in single season draft leagues.
