Carlton Update: Midfield Positions

There is clarity on the Round 1 Carlton midfield.

Assistant coach Tim Clarke revealed on SEN this week several key players that will figure highly in the centre of the ground.

While positions aren’t locked in just yet with several weeks remaining before the start of the 2022 H&A season the names given up by Clarke would be a strong indicator ahead of a Round 1 match-up against Richmond.

“There’s still a little bit of work to do before we come out and play for Round 1,”

“We’ve got (Patrick) Cripps who has played here for a number of years – is the captain, he’s obviously going to be a big presence for us.”

“And I feel like we’ve been really lucky with at the Carlton footy club is the introduction of Adam Cerra/George Hewett who have come to the club and hit the ground running with their work ethic, their leadership, their expectations in and around the contest.”

Injury Update: Carlton

“I feel they’re going to play a big role come Round 1.”

“Then we’ve got a number of other guys who are playing some really good footy at the moment, Matty Kennedy, Paddy Dow is in really good form.”

“I’m talking about the guys playing in and around the ball, we’ve got some really good midfielders to choose from.”

“We’re going to have some tough decisions over the next 3 or 4 weeks as these guys get to roll out their brand of football against opposition.” Clarke said.
