AFLRATINGS NEWS: Essendon key forward Archie May was assessed for a right shoulder concern in the Round 12 game against West Cast at Optus Stadium.
May came from the ground in Q1 and did not return.

Essendon confirmed a shoulder injury throughout the game.
May has undergone further assessment to determine the severity of the injury, he sustained a broken bone in his shoulder along with ligament damage (via Tom Morris – June 9).
He will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season.
“It’s disappointing for Archie. He has shown some really encouraging signs throughout the first half of the season,”
“This injury is obviously a setback, but we know he’ll attack his rehab in the right way, and return for pre-season in great shape to set himself up for a really strong 2027.” Essendon GM of Football Daniel McPherson.
Essendon will likely provide updates during his rehabilitation period.
