AFLRATINGS NEWS: Essendon defender Archie Roberts was assessed for a dislocated right shoulder on Saturday against Melbourne.
Roberts came from the ground in Q2 and was immediately ruled out of the game.

Essendon confirmed a shoulder injury throughout the game.
Roberts underwent further assessment to determine the severity of the injury which confirmed soft tissue damage.

He will consult with a surgeon later this week.
“It’s disappointing for Archie, who’s been so consistent for us in just his third season at the level,”
“He will have a surgical consult early in the week, which will help inform the next course of action; that being rehab and return for the back end of the season, or have it surgically repaired now – we will gather all the necessary information before making that call.” Essendon GM of AFL Daniel McPherson.
Essendon will likely provide a further update in the upcoming period.

Roberts averaged 31.5 disposals, 6.5 marks and 1.2 tackles prior to Round 14 (AF PPM: 1.26).
Essendon next play Nth Melbourne on Sunday June 28 at Marvel Stadium.
