The ownership for Harley Bennell will likely nose dive on the back of his latest injury concern, he suffered a minor calf strain at training last week & missed training on Monday.

Injury Update: Harley Bennell

Bennell has played in only 2 games since crossing to Fremantle at the end of 2015, he set a career season high 82.5pts in AFL Fantasy & 101.5pts in SuperCoach in 2015.

The midfield usage for Andrew McGrath could spike in 2019, he spent the first 2 years playing across the backline and looks set to be exposed more in the middle of the ground this season.

“I was drafted as a midfielder.. to finally be given I guess the right of way to play in that position & try and attack the game from there is really exciting.. now I think I am ready to really start to impact games” Andrew McGrath via @SportsdayRadio on Monday.

McGrath averaged 71.4pts in AFL Fantasy & 70.8pts in SuperCoach in 2018.

The stacked midfield at Collingwood will likely create a good problem for Nathan Buckley but not for fantasy coaches, with only 3 (midfield) players allowed in at centre bounces at any one time and the introduction of 6-6-6 starting positions some players could see a significant spike in other areas of the ground.

Nathan Buckley provided an update (via @cleary_mitch).

“Pendles is an inside player, but he’s also a very smart player, so he could be on the fringe in front (of the ball), behind or even on the wing.”

“Steele (Sidebottom) will find himself in different positions.” Nathan Buckley.

Just a bit of clarity from Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin today, yes well all know Braydon Preuss was recruited to the Demons but his wording does suggest there is a bit of work to do prior to a dual Ruck set-up.

“Clearly we know he’s got some work to do.. he gives us options.. he gives us our ability to potentially look at playing 2 Rucks.. it gives us a really good support mechanism for Max (Gawn)” Simon Goodwin on Braydon Preuss via @1116sen.

The R2 position is a vital decision for fantasy coaches prior to Round 1.

Lachie Neale is primed for his first year at Brisbane, he was genuinely positive on his fitness today heading into the 2019 H&A season.

“I haven’t been able to to complete a pre-season until this year for probably 3 or 4 years.. already I’m noticing my body is a little bit stronger” Lachie Neale via @WhateleySEN.

Neale averaged 100.2pts in AFL Fantasy & 111.9pts in SuperCoach in 2018.

Dan Hannebery was back running at 3/4 speed today, there is the possibility he does not play in the JLT Series but is ready for Round 1 (via @Stevo7AFL).

“I expect him to be there Round 1” Seb Ross on Dan Hannebery today.

Hannebery averaged 62.4pts in AFL Fantasy & 60.1pts in SuperCoach in 2018, all updates from this point forward are crucial prior to Round 1 lockout.

Matthew Parker could be a chance to debut in Round 1, he was selected at Pick 47 in the 2018 AFL Draft.

“Get the sense he plays Round 1” @Stevo7AFL on Matthew Parker.

Parker averaged 13.0 Disposals & kicked 27 Goals for Sth Fremantle in the WAFL in 2018.

One to watch out for is Stefan Martin, he has battled most of the pre-season with back and ankle issues and now is under pressure to retain his No.1 Ruck role from Archie Smith & Oscar McInerney.

“Having Fages put the ruck spot up for grabs has spurred me on to see if I can improve my game” Stefan Martin today.

“I’m feeling the fittest that I’ve been in my time here & I’ve put on some size as well.. I feel like I’m ready to take that next step” Archie Smith in early December.

Martin averaged 101.3pts in AFL Fantasy & 105.7pts in SuperCoach in 2018.
