Nth Melbourne defender Robbie Tarrant will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair an AC Joint, he was injured in an intra-club game on Wednesday.
Despite the surgery so late in the pre-season, Nth Melbourne are confident Tarrant will be available for Round 1.

“He’ll be operated on tomorrow and he’ll waste no time with his recovery and rehabilitation,” Nth Melbourne GM Football, Cameron Joyce.
Tarrant is a key component in the Nth Melbourne defence, he averaged 16.2 Disposals & 6.2 Marks last season.
Tarrant has played in 95.6% of games since the beginning of the 2015 H&A season.

Tarrant isn’t considered an option in season long fantasy, he would only be viable in deep draft leagues.
If Tarrant were to miss Round 1 it would provide an opportunity for another Nth Melbourne player, rookie Bailey Scott might be an option across half-back.
