Injury Update: Adam Treloar

Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar sustained a mild calf strain on his return to training on Monday, it is expected his training loads will be eased in the short term to allow for a full recovery.

Treloar missed Round 1 due to a hamstring injury sustained in the Marsh Community Series, the Magpies will likely provide further updates on Treloar in the lead up to Round 2.

Collingwood GM of Football Geoff Walsh provided an update this morning on Treloar.

“Adam was feeling tight & he came from the track as a precaution,”

“A scan has confirmed a very minor strain that will see Adam’s training loads wound back for a week or two.”

Treloar averaged 32.9 Disposals, 4.0 Marks & 4.9 Tackles from 24 games in 2019.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

When Treloar returns he will likely be used at a high rate through the midfield, Jordan DeGoey increased his CBA usage in Round 1 without Treloar.

Fantasy: Round 1 Bulldogs v Magpies CBA’s

The return of Treloar & Jaidyn Stephenson will put pressure on spots at the Magpies in Round 2, Tyler Brown was impressive in Round 1 on debut and is likely to retain his position in the team.

If fully fit Treloar is a genuine target in season long fantasy due to his high ceiling & low ownership having missed Round 1.
