Liam Jones has retired, Carlton made the announcement on Sunday.
He asked for privacy in his decision, reports earlier this week named him as the Carlton player not adhering to the AFL/AFLPA policy for Covid 19 vaccination.

“I wish to announce my retirement from AFL football effective immediately,”
“I hope that people respect my decision and privacy – neither myself or my management team will be making any further comment on the matter. ” Liam Jones via Carlton Media.
Carlton also requested privacy for Jones.
“Liam confirmed with us today that he has made the decision to retire, and his wish for the specific reasons of that decision to be kept private – as a club, we will be respecting that.” Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd.
Carlton now have an additional list spot which they can fill via the upcoming draft or via SSP (Supplemental Selection Period) prior to the start of the 2022 season.
