2021 Fantasy: Melbourne Centre Bounces

Melbourne operated with a narrow core group at centre bounces in 2021, availability played a major part in the success through the middle of the ground. 

Clayton Oliver completed a full season for the Demons, he was the No.1 ranked player at centre bounces with a high usage rate of 86.8%.

Christian Petracca was also used at a high rate through the middle of the ground despite his ability to hit the scoreboard playing forward, he recorded a usage rate of 79.2% at centre bounces from a full season. 

Jack Viney had an injury interrupted season, this allowed for others to develop in the midfield.

He was used at 42.5% of team centre bounces across the season, that number significantly increased to 71.5% in games he played (15).

James Harmes overcame an early season injury to see decent usage at centre bounces, he was used at 34.4% across the season & 48.3% in games he played in (18).

 James Jordon forged his was into the midfield over pre-season, he had a usage rate of 17.8% across the season.

Kosi Picket did see a sprinkling of usage early in the year (Season: 6.8%).

Tom Sparrow was another that was used at centre bounces, he had a usage rate of 16.1% across the season & 8.8% in the Grand Final. 

Oliver & Petracca were used at a very high rate of 91.2% in the Grand Final, Viney was used at 88.2%.

Harmes was used at the remaining 20.6%.
