He plays as a defender/wing type, he currently stands at 186cm, 76kg.

Fahey has been part of the Giants Academy since he was 13, he compares his game to a couple of genuine stars at the Giants.

“The main two I think are Josh Kelly & Lachie Whitfield, I just think we have similar traits that I really can take & learn of them,”

“I think If I can my game will go to another level, obviously I will try & learn as much as I can” Fahey said post-draft.

2022 AFL Fantasy: James Tunstill

Fahey averaged 13.3 Disposals, 3.3 Marks & 2.3 Tackles from 3 games in the VFL in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Josh Fahey will add depth to the Giants half-back line or wing area of the ground, he’s an athletic/high agility type player.

He has line breaking speed off half-back, he has excellent vision/awareness & an elite ability to hit targets at a high rate with his left foot.

The short term fantasy prospects are likely limited for Fahey, the Giants have a very deep list while previously senior coach Leon Cameron has been patient with younger type players entering the AFL system.

The longer term prospects could be quite healthy, once Fahey fully develops expect him to take up a position in a ball winning area of the ground. His scoring output could be very strong.

If Fahey can break through at AFL level in 2022 then he is worth considering but keep in mind it may only be for a short burst, it is worth tracking his progress at the lower level across the season.

He’s a pass in single season draft leagues, he is worth targeting well ahead of expected ADP in dynasty leagues. Fahey could produce strong fantasy numbers over his career.
