Eric Hipwood is on track to return in May, Brisbane senior coach Chris Fagan was optimistic on Monday based on his current progress.
Hipwood ruptured the ACL in his left knee in July last year, Fagan provided an update on his program & likely return date.
“Basically his program is strengthening & running at the moment, he does a little bit of stationary skills.”

“He’d like to do more probably if you would let him.”
“He thinks he’s going to be back for the start of the season, he won’t be.”
“He might not be too far in (returning in 2022),”
“May, end of May is probably a reasonable time frame for him to get back if he doesn’t have any hiccups.”
“It’s been pretty straight forward to this stage, with no setbacks.” Fagan said.
Hipwood averaged 10.6 Disposals, 4.9 Marks, 1.2 Tackles & 1.5 Goals from 16 games in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: Eric Hipwood averaged 56.9pts from 16 games in 2021, he scored a season high 93pts in Round 10 against Richmond.

Joe Daniher averaged 68.9pts without Hipwood for the final 8 games of 2021, Brisbane may look to proceed with a dual ruck set-up with McInerney/Fort until at least Hipwood returns mid 2022.
Hipwood is a pass in season long fantasy, he’s also a pass in single season draft leagues.
