Dan Houston has provided an update on his role at Port Adelaide, he has played the majority of the season in a half-back role following early season midfield usage in 2021.
He sustained a shoulder injury in the early part of the season & was subsequently moved away from a pure midfield role, additionally he provided extra coverage for the team across half-back when injuries to other players were an issue.
Port Adelaide have quality & depth through their midfield, Houston can provide extra value from half-back & the wing with his disposal efficiency.

“I think at this stage & the way we’re playing & the players that we’ve got in, probably my strength is my efficiency & my ball use & kicking the ball inside 50, so I think that probably suits to more half-back.”

Houston has played 22 games for Port Adelaide this season averaging 20.9 Disposals, 4.8 Marks & 2.5 Tackles.
FANTASY IMPACT: Dan Houston has averaged 80.0pts this season, he averaged 79.9pts in the H&A season & scored 82pts against Geelong in the Qualifying Final last Friday. He was used through the midfield early in the 2021 season but a shoulder injury hampered his ability to play as an inside midfield type along with the need for his services across half-back & wing area of the ground. Houston has not been used at centre bounces since Round 15.
